The Karta Initiative offers a range of transformative programs designed to bridge gaps in education, skill development, and employment for young people in the Global South. These programs focus on equipping youth with the tools, resources, and support they need to succeed in higher education, meaningful employment, and entrepreneurship. At the heart of Karta’s work lies the belief that empowering marginalized youth with 21st-century skills, mentorship, and opportunities is the key to breaking cycles of poverty and marginalization.
The Karta Catalyst Fund provides scholarships and financial aid to
high-achieving
students from marginalized communities, enabling them to access quality higher education at premier
universities worldwide. By addressing financial barriers, this program ensures that talented youth
are
not held back by socioeconomic limitations, allowing them to pursue their academic dreams and unlock
their full potential.
To date, we have supported 260 scholars, helping them secure admissions to premier universities
globally. Our collaborations with leading institutions ensure exceptional opportunities for our
scholars. In India, our partners include Flame University, Ashoka University, KREA University,
Plaksha
University, and Ahmedabad University. In the UK, we work with prestigious institutions such as
Oxford
University, Cambridge University, University College London (UCL), University of Edinburgh, and
University of Bristol. In Canada, our partnerships extend to Queen’s University, McGill University,
University of Toronto, and Western University.
These partnerships enable Karta scholars to access world-class education, empowering them to break
barriers, transform their lives, and contribute to the upliftment of their communities.

Karta’s Mentoring Program connects young people with experienced
professionals who provide guidance, support, and encouragement throughout their academic and
professional journeys. Mentors play a crucial role in helping students navigate challenges, explore
career pathways, and build confidence.
This program is designed to foster long-term relationships that go beyond traditional mentorship,
offering young people access to valuable networks and opportunities. By building social and cultural
capital, Karta ensures that students from marginalized communities are better positioned to succeed
and thrive.
The Employment and Entrepreneurship Support program focuses on bridging
the gap between education and meaningful livelihoods. Karta works closely with industry partners and
stakeholders to create employment opportunities aligned with young people’s skills and aspirations.
In addition, this program empowers youth to become entrepreneurs by providing training, resources,
and financial support to start their own businesses. By fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, Karta
enables young people to address challenges within their communities and drive sustainable change.
