The Karta Initiative’s Strategy Plan (2024 to 2030) outlines a bold and forward-looking mission to empower 1 million young people in the Global South by 2030. Through innovative, tech-driven, and scalable interventions, Karta aims to bridge gaps in education, skill-building, and employment opportunities, particularly for marginalized youth and young women. This roadmap highlights the long-term goals, actionable strategies, and priorities that will guide our efforts in creating transformative change.

Our Mission for 2030

To empower 1 million young people in the Global South by providing:

  • 21st-century skills to prepare them for higher education and careers.
  • Access to quality higher education through scholarships, mentorship, and partnerships.
  • Opportunities for meaningful employment and entrepreneurship.
  • Support for developing young leaders who will transform their communities.

Key Strategies to Achieve Our Mission

  1. Higher Education Access
    • Equip young people with 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, digital literacy, and problem-solving to prepare them for education and career success.
  2. Higher Education Access
    • Provide scholarships to deserving students from marginalized communities to study in premier universities
    • Partner with global educational institutions to improve access to quality education.
    • Build mentorship programs to guide students through their academic and career journeys.
  3. Employment and Entrepreneurship
    • Facilitate job opportunities aligned with youth skills and aspirations by collaborating with industries and stakeholders.
    • Support young people in launching their own businesses through financial and resource-based assistance.
  4. Youth Leadership and Community Impact
    • Develop young leaders as social change agents to uplift their communities.
    • Promote youth participation in addressing local and global challenges through innovation and leadership.
  5. Technology and Innovation
    • Leverage technology to deliver scalable and accessible solutions such as digital platforms for skill-building, career resources, and mentorship.
    • Expand multilingual tools and resources to address diverse needs across the Global South.

  • Skill Development: Train 1 million young people in 21st-century skills to prepare them for education and careers.
  • Higher Education Access: Enable 100,000 young people to access higher education through scholarships and mentorship.
  • Employment and Entrepreneurship: Facilitate 100,000 job and self-employment opportunities for young people.
  • Youth Leadership: Empower 50,000 young people as social change leaders to transform their communities.
